Tomasz Gawrylczyk is an experienced attorney in proceedings regarding infringements of industrial property rights and unfair competition, including proceedings for securing future claims. He represents clients before common courts, in litigation before the patent office, as well as in proceedings before law enforcement and enforcement authorities. He has gained experience in combating practices that have the hallmarks of unfair competition and in negotiations regarding the transfer of intellectual property rights. His clients include multi-branch corporations, manufacturers, mining and construction companies, telecommunications operators and importers of goods.

He has many years of experience in the ongoing legal service of companies, including management boards and supervisory boards of companies in the field of corporate matters and compliance with the information obligations of public companies. As a member of the team preparing and implementing investment projects, he prepared, among others multilateral commercial contracts and was responsible for negotiating terms and preparation of delivery contracts and executive contracts of significant value. As a lawyer and patent attorney, he participated in the successful investment project of the buyer of intellectual property rights to innovative packaging production technology, research results, know-how and patents, preparing agreements related to the transfer of intellectual property rights and taking part in the preparation of applications for funding for the project including construction of a production plant and expansion on foreign markets. The project patented a wide range of solutions and secured the exclusive rights of the manufacturer in dozens of countries around the world.

 He actively participated in the work of a team of several people involved in the preparation, acquisition of financing and implementation of an investment project for the construction of a quarry and production plant in the province of Lower Silesia, with a total value of PLN 140 million. Dr. Adam Sobczak graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw, Pharmacy Department, and earned his PhD degree at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of Polish Academy of Science.

He combines his extensive experience in academic research with practical knowledge in technology transfer and commercialization into industry. Dr. Sobczak is a co-founder of Center of Technology Transfer (OTT) and Bio & Technology Innovations Platform (BioTech-IP) at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw.

As one of the key managers of OTT, along with his colleagues, he built a system enabling commercialization of research outcomes from six institutes of the Warsaw Biocenter consortium.
He perfected his knowledge on the IP protection and management strategies as well as commercialization of scientific products at Stanford University.

As part of his professional experience, he presented numerous inventions to investors such as Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, Amgen, Merck, A&A biotechnology, US Pharmacia, MZT Clinicals, Science Pharma, Over Group, LuxMed or Alab.

He coordinated large R&D projects at the Medical University of Warsaw including development of novel immunooncology as well as non-commercial clinical studies on application of stem cells. Neuroscientist with 12+ years of work experience in the most prestigious institutions in Europe and in the US, such as the National Institutes of Health (USA), Karolinska Institute (Sweden) or Cardiff University (UK). He complemented his scientific education by studying technology transfer and translational medicine in the USA. He gained practical insight into the deep-tech business building in the international context. Moreover, he delivered consulting and business tasks working for the most successful American organizations supporting innovation. His hands-on experience included due diligence, business planning, growth strategy, organization management, leadership, branding, marketing, and communication.

After his return to Poland, he worked as the science and commercialization director in a newly established government agency responsible for the medical research development. There, he created a new department and managed daily a team of R & D specialists. Among many successful projects in the agency, he created a grant proposal which received PLN 1.34 billion from the EU for the Polish medical and health sciences R & D reform. He learnt his grantsmanship and communication skills at several international courses but, most importantly, he prepared many successful grant applications throughout his professional career. Leo Turno is a consultant and specialist in commercialization of innovative solutions, provides support for investors and facilitates technology transfers. As a certified mediator he leads the negotiations and mediations of Sigeon IP Clients’ cases. He helps in establishing international R&D consortia to enable execution and completion of projects financed through framework programs (such as H2020), as well as successfully coordinates operations and work of international R&D consortia. He organizes trainings and workshops aiming to identify potential platforms for innovation development in the fields of applied sciences. He cooperates in cases related to valuation and commercialization of industrial property, development and implementation of growth strategy and building market value of companies.

Leo Turno gained his organisational, communication and mediation skills through extensive experience as an executive manager in large corporations in Poland and abroad (UK, France, Switzerland). He initiated and led international workshops for institutes from the Lukasiewicz Research Network and their scientific partners in Finland and Spain. Key Polish corporations such as KGHM, GRUPA AZOTY, and LOTOS Group took part. The workshops resulted in submitting a number of applications to the H2020 programme within months from completing the project.

Earlier in his career, Leo Turno managed an international press agency and worked for several high-tech companies (Blue Chip) in Poland (IBM), Scotland (Motorola Semiconductors), and Switzerland (Eli Lilly). He was responsible for sales expansion, marketing, production, and finance management. Following the corporate experience, he undertook challenges in entrepreneurial ventures and managed startup companies and early-stage projects. Alongside his work at Sigeon IP, Andrzej Hulewicz also teaches German and cooperates with the Österreich Institut Warschau. He is an ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch) licensed examiner and conducts national and international exams in German language.

Education

Andrzej Hulewicz received his masters degree from University of Warsaw, where he studied Germanic Philology. He also finished Post-Graduate College of German Language for Teaching at the University of Warsaw, and enrolled in doctoral studies in Germanic Philology.
